Despite
our love for the sun and the open air, there are many who do not have the
ability to sit for a long time under the sun and burn. If you are one of them,
do not worry. Here are 7 simple and easy treatments to soothe sunburn.
-Lotions:
There are
lots of lotions that can be purchased from local pharmacies or supermarkets
that work to reduce burns and help to repair damaged skin.
Choose
one with aloe vera because plant extracts help to soothe burns. Although these lotions
or gels help repair the skin after sun damage, it can not repair damage to
cells. This damage puts you at risk of skin cancer., So make sure you always
use sunscreen.
-Cooling:
Use
something cold on your skin to help relieve heat caused by the sun. Pressure
can help with a cold thing, a snow pack or a cool bath to soothe your skin.
But do
not put snow directly on your skin, because it may cause pain and damage, and
you can put it inside the towel first. You may need to repeat the process several
times, depending on how bad the burn.
- Yogurt:
Yogurt
can be used to reduce sunburn. Putting yogurt on your burned skin provides some
comfort. High acidity appears to reduce burns, so it can be used to cool the
heat.
- Tea:
The tea
can be used after putting it on your skin. The tannic acid found in black tea
is thought to help remove heat from burned areas and restore acidity in the
skin.
- Drinking water:
When you
are sunburned, your body tends to dry, so it is important to make sure you
drink plenty of water to make up the sweat and lost water. You should know that
if your skin is sensitive and dry from the sun, your body also suffers from
dehydration. Drinking cold water can help reduce your body temperature.
- The milk:
Cold milk helps to reduce sunburn, because it contains
vitamin A, D, amino acids, lactic acid, fat, whey protein and caffeine.
These ingredients help the skin to recover, and the
vitamins help the skin to heal while the lactic acid promotes the skin to get
rid of the dead cells.
All you have to do is pour some milk into a bowl,
leave it in the refrigerator to cool, then soak a cloth in milk, remove it and
press on the affected skin.
- Cucumber:
It is used to keep the eyes cold, and it is believed
that the cucumber has natural antioxidant properties to cool the burns, and you
can either cut it and place it directly on your skin or crush it and use it as
a cream.
