How to make healthy iced tea

How to make iced tea? This recipe was prepared by Nadia Parekh (Milang Dubai) for the “fight diabetes” initiative's Healthy Home recipe, it is my favorite iced tea recipe, as it is easy and can be prepared well in advance; as well as the perfect balance between acidity and sweetness.

Ingredients

  • For marinated work:
  • 4 bags of Moroccan tea (or any flavored tea bags as per your choice)
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • Honey (to taste)
  • 1 soft peach, grooved cut
  • 2 lemons cut into slices
  • Strawberries cut in half
  • For decorating:
  • 500 ml sparkling water (plain or flavored as per your choice)
  • Ice cubes
  • Ideas for additional flavors:
  • Mint leaves
  • Frozen berries
  • Rosemary
  • Edible flowers
  • Orange or lemon slices, etc.

Method of preparation

  1. Boil water, remove from heat, add tea bags and leave for 3-4 minutes, depending on the weight of the tea you want. Mix honey in tea and let cool at room temperature.
  2. Prepare the marinade, add tea and cool overnight.
  3. Add sparkling water just before serving.
  4. Other flavors can be added to the cup.
